My Journey
My journey in writing
“What’s in a Name?”
The Heart Behind the Story
Every story begins with a spark — mine started with a question: What’s in a name? As a writer and educator, I’ve always believed that names carry power, history, and hope. This book grew from my desire to help children see themselves as unique, valued, and brave enough to define their own stories, especially my grandchildren.
The Journey
Writing What’s in a Name? was more than creating a children’s book — it was a journey of discovery. I wanted to capture the wonder of childhood curiosity and the pride that comes from understanding who we are. This story invites readers on a heartfelt journey through the names my granddaughter Lyric carries— each bestowed by her loving family, each embraced with joy. Along the way, she learns that every name holds a legacy, and every legacy begins with love. Told with youthful charm and sincerity, Lyric’s narration invites children to reflect on their own names and stories. At the end, children can write their own names and uncover their meanings, creating a personalized keepsake. The book becomes not just a story, but the start of a lifelong adventure in self-discovery and storytelling.
The Mission
Through Nailed It Publishing, I aim to create books that celebrate identity, imagination, and independence — stories that remind children they are seen, loved, and capable of greatness.
The Invitation
Join me on this journey of words and wonder. Let’s keep inspiring young readers to ask questions, dream boldly, and find magic in their own names.
